Keeping the Spot Hot in Twenty Ten!

It’s been a wacky end to 09 and a great start to oh10!  A few notes below on what the Suite Spot crew have been getting into!

Adam recently spent a week shooting some amazing images in Kyoto Japan, we partnered with photographer Gray Scott to shoot a campaign for the Ports 1961 clothing group, link coming soon.

Suite Spot took batting practice, produced and is completing post on a project with Don Mattingly for Mattingly Sports.

We have been popping away with our good friend Meagan Brauer on the new NYC travel tips sight www.popupnewyork.com.  9 segments completed and more to come, Megan does a ridiculous job researching and checking out great places around the city to pop over to, we then shoot and edit with her…so far very proud of the site and all the fantastic feedback!

2 days of shooting and 6 winter wonderland sets later, Suite Spot completed production on holiday promos with WCBS news.  Check out our virtual window display here and here.  Time Lapse of the 3 days of work can be found here

Suite Spot just finished co-producing two Sportscenter spots, working with Dominos and Bayer for a campaign running on ESPN Sportscenter and through all ESPN video portals, finals coming soon!

Our crew members were more than happy to spend an evening shooting the ladies from Victorias Secret for a segment covering the recent fashion show and model contest, clips can be seen via the site Modelinia here.

We have some exciting new gigs brewing in this brand new year.  We are exploring some crazy motion controlled time lapse setups, kicking around a 3d RED camera job, and pushing our work to give it that brand new decade feel.  Yay, Goosebumps!  More to come!

Falling into Fall!

Awwwww Labor day has arrived and departed.  So sad to see the summer months go, but who doesn’t love a little fall weather in the NYC.  A few Suite Spot tidbits to move us into sleeves and pants weather.

We have upgraded our RED world with the new Red Rocket Card in our Red Edit Room!  Real time 4k Debaying in house (or outta house if the job is right).  An amazing new system which speeds up R3D processing immensely.

Lots of projects cooking and a few served over these past months.

Adam spent 2 weeks in Barcelona working on a project with our wonderful Parisian friends over at JawaProd.

We recently worked with two of our favorite game shows ever, The Price is Right and Amazing Race.  We also were pleased to spend a day shooting at the Metropolitan Museum during one of their "off" days.

We are supporting a documentary covering the terrifying world of abused children in Liberia, currently in production, updates can be found at www.liberiaschildren.blogspot.com .  Congrats go out to the crew behind Matt Porterfield’s Putty Hill, a great 2 week production recently wrapped and we are looking forward to seeing a rough cut in the near future.

Suite Spot has shoots scheduled for Kyoto, Japan and way Northern Cali. in the next month…so more updates to follow!

July!

Happy mid Summer Yall!

Susan G Komens Race for the cure is a great cause and a wonderful event.  We partner with WCBS to promote the event the last few years, this season we took over a piece of The Plaza hotel to shoot a promo for the organization.  Please do check out their site and get involved here.  LINK!

Also on the CBS side of things, great mention from our good friend and colleague Bruce Brauer in this Daily News article!  I do think Cronkite would have been proud (and now I know what the mystery button on the wall is for!)  LINK!

We recently completed an HIV animation project for a medical client of ours.  A 2 minute informational piece about the spread of HIV in the body.  You can see the video here. LINK!

June

Gotta love June in the city.  Full blown summer days and excessive outdoor activities.

We recently spent a day a J-E-T-S training camp in New Jersey shooting player interviews for the preseason.  Can’t help but appreciate new coach Rex Ryan, he was a pleasure to have on set.

SuiteSpot took a quick roadtrip to Phily to discuss a possible television pilot for the near future.  On a side note, we were pleased to see the fantastic development of the Piazza at the Schmidt brewery.  This was a much less people friendly part of town with not much for business and culture…now it has an 8 block pedestrian path lined with little shops leading to this new heart of the local community.

We are currently working on some new videos for the Rachel Ray website, we spent a day filming at the Brooklyn Public Library for one of their annual events (it’s all about the kids at the BPL), and we are working on a new shoot with our CBS friends at the newly renovated Plaza hotel.

Our graphic design/3d motion graphics team is hard at work on a 2 minute animation for an international client of ours.  Keep an eye out for the completed video once we are allowed to show it off next month.

For fun and space age giggles we are also in pre-production with our friends over at C-TRL working on a new music video for the band Vulture Realty…using our RED camera and their compositing skills, we hope to have a nifty summer project to show off in the next 2 months.

Alright all…thanks for checking in! More updates to come soon!

May Days!

Alright…Pre-Memorial Day wackiness in the East Village…and Suite Spot is pulling out the sweat rags and breaking out the tank tops!

Big Congrats to our buddy Chris Ciabarra, founder of www.networkintercept.com.  Chris is finding wonderfull success with his newest product, Scan-On-The-Go…we made a quick promo video for the product here (LINK) and a commercial for the product networkintercept.com/scanonthego.htm.  Please do check this product out, it speeds up your web browsing while protecting all of your interactions…great for traveling and public computer usage.

We are helping out our friends over at SELF.COM.  Editing some new videos for their site.  A Beyonce interview/behind the scenes project, and a set of 15 workout tips from one of their featured health experts.  All premiering this month on the ever up to date and informative SELF.COM.

Red Camera chugging along this month…shot some screen tests for 2 potential narrative projects, and an MTV promo.

Adam is Pre-Proing his butt off producing the live video for the 2009 CFDA awards show, hosted by Tracy Ulman this year.  Always a challenge always a success!

Also…a little bit of shameless self promotion… I (Eli) post wackiness (mostly media/links, minor musings) to www.eliheitin.tumblr.com and also have updates sent out through my twitter @heitin.  Just in case you need some web haha’s in your life.  Tweet me…I’ll Tweet ya back.

May!

Suite Spot summer is on the way.  Looking forward to drying off the April showers and putting on the summer shades!

A few things going on that we are excited about.

"’Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris" is a documentary assisted by Suite Spot.  Eli shot some scenes (and got credit on the poster!), Adam helped out on the post side.  It’s now available for purchase from Amazon.com it’s worth a look if you have any curiosities about a long forgotten jazz great.

Our buddy Matt Porterfield is following up his critically acclaimed 1st feature, "Hamilton" (check the amazing review in the New Yorker) with his new film "Metal Gods".  We are supporting his Red Camera needs and post supervising on the edit, soaking in the Baltimore scenes.

Our friend in South Beach, Miami, Bernard Dino Bonomo, (gotta have friends in Miami) is premiering his documentary about young entreprenuers http://www.theyesmovie.com/.  So far it’s had a great response and we wish him the continued success.  Take a look.

Adam will be in Indianapolis, Indiana next week on a food product commercial shoot.  Eli will be in NY working with his favorite news broadcast team.

Alright folks, thanks for staying with us, comment below to let us know whats new with you too!

Suite Spot Celebrity Apprentice Appearance

We made a cut down of all the footage of the wacky Suite Spot Celebrity Apprentice appearance.  Coincidence that this was the only win for the Male team?  You decide…(just look at that Trumpy smile while he’s watchin the video!).
